Dao Kung-Fu karate club clocks 13

Dao Kung-Fu Karate Club that was initiated by Muhamed Jatta in Faji Kunda last Saturday celebrates its thirteen years of existing in a well attended ceremony near Radio One FM on Kairaba Avenue.

Dao Kung-Fu Karate Club aims to train young Gambians and non Gambians alike and in self-defence, discipline, basic Karate skills so as to ensure self-defence.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Sarjo Jallow, Assistant Technical Director and a trainer at The Gambia national karate team said the sports of karate is mostly abused by many as a game of cruelty. He said karate is as interesting and worthy like any other sporting disciplines.

Jallow urged people not to see the game as a cruel game but rather a game that teaches self-discipline and moral.

He commended the club for their producing many black belt holders in the past thirteen years.

For his part Ebou Sanyang, commonly known as Jet-Li, a renowned Chinese actor said the club was established by Muhamed who has won an award as a master in Kung-Fu techniques in 1996 at Fajikunda.

Sanyang said since the club’s inception, it has steadily grown up as evident in its production of good crops of black belt holders in the country.
