Royal Gibraltar Regiment Donates to Campama Psychiatric Hospital

Emma Mamet, Consular Officer at the British High Commission, together with the Officer in Charge of the British Military Advisory Training Team, Captain Gareth Flowers, handed over beds and mattresses, generously donated by the Royal Gibraltar Regiment to Campama Psychiatric Hospital, on Friday 7 September 2007. This is a follow up to the work undertaken earlier in the year at Campama by the Gambia Armed Forces Assault pioneers and members of the Royal Gibraltar Regiment.

Other items such as school books have been distributed to various NGOs in The Gambia.

This is the third visit to The Gambia by the Royal Gibraltar Regiment who are here to support the Gambian Armed Forces in their peace-keeping efforts in Darfur. Activities include peace support operations training, mine clearance and vehicle checkpoint procedures. There is also a team of two mechanics supporting the GAF with vehicle maintenance.

Monday 10 September was Gibraltar National Day. The day was celebrated by the Royal Gibraltar Regiment in The Gambia.
