Saturday, September 15, 2007

A female Gambian lawyer, Sakari Jahateh, is currently undergoing an orientation programme at Banjul Magistrates’ Court as part of preparations for her full participation in the magistracy.

Ms. Jahateh has just joined the bench and is at present attached to magistrate B.Y. Camara to prepare her for her future challenges as a magistrate.

Upon the completion of her programme, she would fully assume the role of a magistrate at one of the court rooms at Banjul Magistrates’ Court.

Meanwhile, Ms. Jahateh was a private legal practitioner before joining the bench.
