The criminal trial of giving false information to a public officer involving one Abdoulie Morrow Drammeh, a member of staff of the Department of State for Local Government, Lands and Religious Affairs, could not proceed last Monday due to the absence of the prosecution witness.
The case is being heard by Principal Magistrate Edrisa M’bai of the Banjul Magistrates Court.
When the case was called, Superintendent Badjie, officer commanding, Prosecution Unit at the Banjul office, said he would like to apply for an adjournment to enable him to bring in his witness.
The principal magistrate at that juncture said that Lamin Jorbateh, counsel for the accused, had informed the court of his intention to be absent on the grounds that he was going for medical treatment.
The magistrate granted the application of the police prosecutor and adjourned the case to 3rd November.
