Simon Bryson, Phil Chapman and fourteen of their students who are studying Tourism and Leisure at the Grimsby Institution of Further and Higher Education in UK, recently donated medical items to the Brufut and Medina Salaam clinics.

The group, on their weeklong visit, also donated school materials to the Berending Lower Basic School. On Saturday they donated D18,000 to the Westfield Clinic. The donation was meant to aid the construction of a treatment centre for diabetic patients. Receiving the money, Dr Lenrie Peters, the director of the clinic, thanked the donors for the laudable gesture.

For her part, Catherine Reynolds, who contributed a lot in raising funds for the clinic, said the contribution came from C Spencer Ltd, the company she works for.  She cited the need for people to take note of how they consume sugar, adding that it is good for one to frequently exercise. Ebrima Kujabi, the administrator of the Westfield Clinic, expressed his delight and gratitude to the donors.
