Pap Saine, managing editor and co-proprietor of The Point newspaper has been charged for publishing false information.
The said offense is contary to Section 181 of the Criminal Code Cap 10 Volume 3. Pap Saine was released on prosecution bail and asked to appear in court today, Wednesday 4th February, 2009. It is expected that The Point boss will take a plea on the charge preferred against him by the police.
Pap Saine, was last Monday, 2nd February 2009, called in by personnel of the Gambia Police Force (GPF) for questioning, together with his chief judicial correspondent, Modou Sanyang. Saine was later in the evening granted police bail whilst Modou Sanyang was released.
