NBR youths elect speaker, others

The North Bank Region Youth Parliament recently elected their executive members in a congress held at the governor’s office in Kerewan, NBR.

The new executive members are Baboucarr Ceesay - speaker, Binta S Njie - deputy speaker, Isatou Bah – Clerk, Omar Seckan - deputy clerk, and Ohasu Joof - financial controller.

Speaking at the congress, the deputy governor, NBR, Momodou Marr, advised the youths to take up the challenge and be ready to deliver as expected. Binta S Njie, the deputy speaker told Daily Observer that she is deeply honoured and grateful to be elected to that position.

“I will make no promise to the youths but I will make sure I work hand in hand with them so that their voices are heard and their requirements taken into consideration, to promote their welfare,” she asserted.
