Maimuna Njie, aged 13 and resident in Tallinding, has been missing for 8 days now.
The mysterious circumstances surrounding the disappearance of the Arabic (Darra) student have baffled her family and neighbours. Dr Ebrima Njie, lecturer at the UTG and a relative of Maimuna Njie, who walked into the office of the Daily Observer in a rather despondent mood, expressed shock over the disappearance of their loved one. He revealed that the 13-year-old has been missing since Monday 13th April 2009. He said that the victim has no record of mental illness.
He explained that on that fateful day, she was sent to collect sawdust and pieces of wood from a carpentry workshop in the neighbourhood but never returned. Dr Ebrima Njie appealed to the general public to assist the family in tracing the young girl.
