Churchill’s Town United defeated Sohna FC last Friday 4-2 on penalty shoot-out after normal time of play ended 0-0 at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.
On the same day, B.B. Rovers trashed Toray’s FC by 3-0 both goals were scored by Bamamadi Dambelly.
Elsewhere on Saturday 18th July 2009, Latrikunda United also defeated Piccadilly by 4-1 on post match penalty shoot-out, after 1-1 result in the 90 minute of play.
S.V. Laar defeated Banda Gi by 1-0 on the same day at the 3pm encounter; Sankung Nyang scored the only goal of the game in the 18th minute of the game.
Stockholm FC also defeated Wales FC by a goal to nil in the 5pm encounter. Lamin Touray scored the goal for
Canon FC also defeated Maul Construct FC by a goal to nil on Sunday at the 9.30am kick-off at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium. Canon FC who were determined and hungry for a victory dominated the game and created scoring chances and in the 82nd minute of the game substituted Gibril Cham scored a brilliant finisher for Canon to give his side the victory of the day.
Churchill’s Town United, B.B. Rovers, Latrikunda United, S.V. Laar, Shockholm and Canon are all through to the fourth round of the Serrekunda East Nawettan qualifiers.
Speaking to the Assistant Coach of Canon FC Bakary Cham, he revealed that they still have to prepare for their forthcoming game in order to gain promotion to this year’s Nawettan.
