Kaka’s Brace Sink Marcus FC in Banjul

Following a break in the Nawettan football, the 2009 Nawettan has resumed in Banjul with an astonishing showpiece of footling, played between Marcus FC of Tobacco Road and FC Revelation at the Gambia High Football field.

The game which marks the official opening of Nawettan football in the city of Banjul this year has drawn a lot of spectators who have waited quite a while to see their stars back on the pitch kicking the ball.

Saturday’s opener produced true thrilling moments for the nervous fans who watched keenly the first half of the match that produced no goals, as both teams played possession football, but failed to score during the first 45th minute.

In the second half, FC Revelation put the game beyond their opponent when their star player Kaka with an eye for goal scored a brace that ensured convincing victory over Marcus, whose resilient in the first half failed to muster some strength in the second period, thus FC Revelation capitalised on their chances to sink their opponent.

In the same vain, the Banjul Sport Community had rescheduled the major cup to 25th July 2009, between Ngoyan and Plumbi FC, to be played at Gambia High School.
