Fan Club Prepare Heroic Welcome

The Gambia National U-20 team would return home on Saturday July 21st, 2007 after a brilliant performance in their first appearance in the World Youth Championship currently underway in Canada.

Speaking to Pointsport from Dakar last night, the President of Gambia Football Association (GFA), Seedy MB Kinteh, said that the Gallant Darling Scorpions would land at the Banjul International Airport tomorrow Saturday July 21st 2007 at 8.30am with Slok Air International Airlines from Dakar.

GFA Boss, Who left Banjul on Wednesday to Dakar to put necessary arrangements in place for the team, said that any body that wishes to welcome the team are urged to be at the Airport at least one hour before the arrival of the team.

Also speaking to Pointsport, the President of Scorpions Fan Club, Bai Jobe, said that as usual the club members are gearing to stage the best ever welcome for the team that has made the all country proud when ever they go for assignments.

Mr. Jobe pointed out that they would assemble at the Independence Stadium at 7.00am where they would board buses to the Airport.

“After landing from the plane, the delegation would be paraded from the Airport through Banjul Nding, Lamin, Abuko, Tabokoto, Latri Kunda, Tallinding, Churchill Town, Westfield, Kairaba Avenue, Sait Matty Road and ends at the Independence Stadium,” Mr. Jobe revealed.

Scorpions’ Fan Club Boss urged all Gambians to come out to welcome the boys.
