President hosts state banquet
President Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh, Tuesday evening, hosted a state banquet at the Kairaba Beach Hotel, a few hours after the grand celebration of the 14th anniversary of the July 22 Revolution.
The dinner was attended by the Senegalese prime minister, Cheikh Hadjibou Soumaré, the vice-president, Dr Aja Isatou Njie-Saidy and other members of the Cabinet, a fraction of Gambian ambassadors, foreign diplomats, NAMs, among other dignitaries.
The three prominent Nigerian movie stars, including an actress, fondly called Mama G (G for General); NkemOwoh, famously called Osuofia, and Francis Duru thrilled the distinguished guests with spectacular performances. Cultural troupes and musicians also lit the event that was characterised by jollity.
