Man jailed for committing felony

One Muhammed Lamin Bangura was recently arraigned before Senior Magistrate Abdoulie Mbakeh of the Kanifing Magistrates Court, answering to charges for committing felony, contrary to the laws of The Gambia.

He pleaded guilty to the charges preferred against him.

According to the facts before the court, Muhammed Lamin Bangura, on or about June 20th, 2008, at the Kanifing Industrial Area, broke into one Bai Ousman Jobe’s shop, intended to commit felony.

He was found with an iron cutter and a padlock, which the court has admitted as exhibits, the Prosecution has also tendered five photos of the scene ,as additional exhibits in the court.

Magistrate Mbakeh,informed the court that ,the accused was a first time offender,he pleaded for mercy, and then sentenced the accused to 18 months imprisonment with hard labour.
