Nigerian gets D50,000 bail bond

Kenneth Nwabuike, a Nigerian national was last Monday granted bail to a sum of D50,000 by Senior Magistrate Buba Jawo of the Bunding Magistrates’ Court, after pleading not guilty on charges of assault, contrary to section 228 of the Criminal Code, Laws of The Gambia. According to the particular of offence on or about 20th November 2006, at Kololi, in the Kanifing Municipal Council of the Republic of The Gambia, Kenneth Nwabuike, unlawfully assaulted one Muhammad Eghewba, by given him a blow on his left eye, thereby causing him actual bodily harm.

When the charge was read to him, he pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him and was granted a court bail in the sum of D50,000, with a Gambian surety.

The case was adjourned to October 8th, for hearing.

Lawyer Edward Gomez represented the accused, while Sergeant 772 Samateh, stood in for the IGP.
