One Morro Dumbuya of Brusubi was yesterday arraigned before Magistrate Pa Harry Jammeh of the Brikama Magistrates court for allegedly obtaining D15, 000 from one Sulyman Wada.
According to the statement of offense, the accused told the complainant that he has a British girlfriend and whenever she comes to The Gambia he will refund Wada. Far from denying the charges preferred against him, Morro Dumbuya told the court to give him time to be able to settle his debt.
Consequently, he was asked by the court to clearly state when is he going to clear the debt. Mr Dumbaya promised the court that he will make an advance payment of D2000 on Monday. The court then extended the deadline for him. Mr Dumbuya was given a court bail of D15, 000. The prosecutor informed the court that the accused has another pending matter with Serrekunda Police.
