Verdict in Cocaine Trial

The Brikama Magistrates’ Court in Western Region had delivered its verdict in the cocaine trial involving one Ousainou Bah as suspect.

Ousainou was sometime this month slammed a five-year jail term and was given an alternative of paying a  D1million court fine or to spend five  years  in jail.

Abdoulie Ceesay of the National Drug Enforcement Agency, prosecuting, recounted that Ousainou Bah was nabbed at the Banjul International Airport in July of this year whilst attempting to smuggle 105 pellets of cocaine.

According to officer Ceesay, the convict’s arrest and subsequent detention was informed by the discovery of 1k and 660g of cocaine in his suitcase.

The case was chaired by magistrate E.F Mbai.
