In Lamin Darboe’s case Magistrate orders sale of property

Magistrate EF M’bai of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court, on Wednesday, ordered for the selling of the property of Pa Camara, a surety to Lamin Darboe of Farato village in two weeks time.

Pa Camara acted as a surety to one Lamin Darboe, who has suspectedly jumped bail.

Lamin Darboe was charged for obtaining 11,000 Pound Sterling (equivalent to over D550,000) by false pretence.

Magistrate M’bai ordered that after the sales of the surety’s property, the complainant must be compensated with D550,000. He also ruled that D150,000 should go to the state.

Defence Counsel Lamin K Mboge had told the court that the accused was nowhere to be found, saying that he cannot represent him when he is away.
