Magistrate Mbai Toughens Stance

Magistrate Edrisa Mbai of Brikama Magistrates’ Court is showing no indication of let-up in extending the long arm of the law to the violators of the Drug Control Act.

The senior magistrate lately convicted and sentenced a 55-year-old man to pay a fine of D1million and any default in fine payment may mean he would go to jail for ten years.

David Jatta, 55, had admitted guilt to charges of being found in possession of 2kg and 200mg of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.
