Passenger vehicle plunges into Bansang river driver dead, 3 others rescued

A passenger vehicle (Geleh Geleh) with registration number NBD 8507 B, last Sunday morning, at around 9:00am, reportedly plunged into the river in Bansang Town, Central River Region.

The incident is said to have occured while the vehiclle was crossing the river. According to sources, the dead body of the driver who was identified as Amadou Bah, was found around 4:30pm on Sunday and was taken to Bansang Hospital.

Sources also hinted this reporters that the deceased (Amadou Bah) was in the vehicle, with two of his apprentice and his friend, namely, Babou Gaye, Alieu Touray and Mam Gorr Faal.

When contacted, ASP Sulayman Secka, the police public relations officer said the three individuals (Babou Gaye, Alieu Touray and Mam Gorr Faal) were safely rescued. He added that the vehicle was also later seen by the rescue team.
