The sole agent and managing director of Premium TV Network has testified in a trial involving the Gambia Electrical and the Premium TV Network at the Banjul High Court, presided over by Justice Dordzie. Premium TV has dragged Gambia Electrical to court over the right to satellite TV network in The Gambia.
In his evidence before the court, Modou S Taal, the managing director of Premium TV, recalled some time in July 2006, when he received a call from a customer who wanted to renew his subscription. He also recalled receiving an e-mail letter from a DSTV customer of the Gambia Electrical Company, which he had printed and handed it over to his solicitor, Sheriff Tambedou. He said the letter was dated 24th July, 2006 and referred to the DSTV services.
At that juncture, Lawyer Tambedou applied to tender the said e-mail letter and his application was granted, before the document was admitted as exhibit K.
In a cross examination by the defence counsel, Ida Drammeh, Mr Taal insisted that he had received an authentic letter, adding that he did not delete anything from its content,
He refuted allegations of the defence counsel that the document has no evidence value, noting that the document has an address, bearing the name of one Pa Musa Secka.
Lawyer Tambedou informed the court of his intention to address the court on the next adjournment date (18th June).
