The SoS Hermann Gmeiner Lower and Upper Basic Schools recently held their 6th graduation ceremony at a colorful ceremony held at the school grounds in Bakoteh.

Addressing the gathering on behalf of the director of schools, Region One, Nuha Jatta reminded the graduands of the importance of two questions in their lives- of what next to do, what to be - to ensure that they are on the right track to attain their goals.

He advised them to always prepare for challenges and to have self discipline wherever they find themselves.

“Be honest in all your endeavors and always show courtesy and respect to be respected in return”, he said.

Success, according to him, comes only through hard work and diligence.

In her annual report, Mrs Hannah Davies,  the principal of the school, stated that Grade 9 students usually look forward to this day with enthusiasm, but noted that the event leaves some with mixed feelings.

She advised the graduands to always strive to keep the flag of SoS Lower and Upper Basic Schools high and to be worthy ambassadors of the schools.  She further urged them to never succumb to failure and disappointments in life.

Evaluating the school’s performances, she stated that the school has been operating for eight years with an excellent enrollment of 745 students adding that the high demand for places has necessitated expansion in both the Lower and Upper Basic Schools.
