The Gambia Volleyball Association will organise a week-long volleyball coaching course for security personnel. The training gathering is scheduled between October 1 to 7 at the Independence Stadium, Bakau.

Confirming this to our reporter, Musa Kasa Taal, President of the Gambia Volleyball Association, said that the training is part of his association’s activities, as agreed with the International Volleyball (FIVB) to provide technical assistance for the good of the game.

Mr Taal said the training will be conducted by a seasoned instructor, Abdel Hamid Elwassimy from South Africa.

“The training will help to promote and develop the trade of volleyball within the security services and the country as a whole.”

Immediately after the course, we will start registration for the Volleyball national league and we implore all interested teams to come forward and register with the national volleyball association,” he said.
