Friday, March 7, 2008

Samger Football Club have topped the GFA first division league with 9 points after beating the 2007 league champions Real de Banjul 1-0 at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Tuesday. The victory marks third win in a row. Samger, who gain promotion to the GFA first division league this season, still maintain their good preseason run off form. The academy boys make it to the top of the table after beating the Bakau giants Bakau United, Armed forces and Real de Banjul in the 2008 Gambia football association national league.

Samger will now play GPA who lost their return leg in Ivory Coast in the confederation cup of CAF.

The match against the ferry boys will not be an easy task for the academy boys as GPA will be looking forward to winning the game, pleasing their fans and showing them that they can still bounce back.

The encounter between the academy boys of Samger and the Ferry boys GPA in week four fixture of The Gambia football association national league, will kick off at the weekend on Sunday the 9th of march 2008 at the Independence Stadium in Bakau at 4.30pm.
