WHAT’S ON - Morgan Family in action tonight

The Jamaican Royal family of reggae music, Morgan Heritage are expected to perform today at the Independent Stadium, Bakau.

The United States  Jamaican based world renowned reggae family arrived in the country on Monday at about 13:30 pm from Senegal where they held a series of concerts in the Senegalese capital, Dakar.

They were received at the Banjul International Airport by members of the excutive of the organising committee of their upcoming mega concerts amid hundreds of music enthisiasts who later escorted them from the airport terminal through the streets of Greater Banjul Area.

Meanwhile, Franky Dancehall Paul, a distinguished and reputed Jamaican reggae dancehall genius, who has been visiting the country is also expected to perform alongside other top-rated Gambian artists.

A line of programmes are being organised by Bright Star Production in collaboration with the Jammeh Foundation for Peace. The main idea behind the programe is to raise funds to augment the resource base of JFP.

In an interview with what’s on shortly before their arrival, Ansumana Drammeh, chairperson of the Media and Publicity Sub-commitee said JFP  is solely sponsored by President Yahya Jammeh. According to him, coming up with such an idea, will greatly help to boost the foundation.

The GRTS showbiz (Goudi Samdi) anchor Drammeh further revealed that during the Jamaican Royal Family’s stay in the country, they will stage their first photo and autography session at ccon Wednesady. “On Friday, there will be a live performance at Brikama Jokor on January 25, and Saturday  February 26, will be the main concert at the Independent Stadium;” he said.
 
He therefore, called on the general public, government institutions, the private sector and all those concerned with the welfare of Gambians to come out in numbers to support this worthy cause.
