Young Observer: Discipline

Monday, March 16, 2009
Discipline is one of the most fundamental characteristics of a human being, in school, in our homes and everywhere in the world.

Discipline is the key to success. Before going further it is necessary to know what the meaning of discipline is. Discipline is the training of the mind and character of a person, which will result to self control and a habit of obedience.

Knowledge without discipline is useless; it is only knowledge along side with discipline that one can use to get anything in life. And it is the only weapon that one can also use to fight against poverty, harassment, difficulties, violence and discrimination in our society. If a person is discipline and educated, he/she will find it very easy to sustain a better living any where in the world.

Therefore everybody needs to maintain discipline to earn dignity and success. For example, in our quest to acquiring knowledge, if a student is discipline, it becomes easy for that particular student to acquire knowledge to a higher level. A student is expected to gain a lot from his/her teacher, but if the student is not discipline, all the teachers will not like him/her. If the teachers dislike any student then they will be reluctant to give the student the knowledge they have. Such a situation does not favour the students and it will hinder their progress.

Therefore I am appealing to all the students in the country to respect their teachers, parents, books, religion and the rules and regulations of their schools. May God bless us and help us to realize all our dreams in future.
