Momodou Turo Darboe, executive director of Vision Development Foundation (VDF), yesterday, donated 150 helmets, 150 hand gloves and 150 dust masks to the Gambia Ports Authority (GPA), at a presentation ceremony held at his office in Banjul.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Momodou Turo Darboe, said his organisation’s objective is to always complement government’s efforts to develop the country. Darboe acknowledged President Jammeh’s efforts to build a modern Gambia and commended him for moving the country forward. He expressed hope that the items donated will help the GPA staff to improve on their work.
Receiving the donation, Dembo Jammeh, president of The Gambia Maritime Workers’ Association at GPA, commended Turo Darboe for the gesture. He described the donated items as life saving devices that will help them in the execution of their duties. He called on other Gambians to emulate Turo Darboe. Ousman Jobarteh, director of Operations at GPA delivered the vote of thanks.
