Please, allow me space in your widely read newspaper to express my sincere and heartfelt gratitude to Africell for proving to all and sundry, once again, that they are “No.1 for a reason.”

It is exactly five months since I wrote to all GSM operators in The Gambia (GAMCEL, AFRICEL & COMIUM), expressing my feelings on the deplorable network reception in Siffoe, Kombo South, Western Division. Africell was the only GSM operator which had the courtesy to respond through a phone call expressing their commitment to making their services available to every Gambian.

Today, as I write these words, Africell has done it again. Siffoe is blessed with an antenna, which may not only solve the poor network reception for the village but redeem its satellite villages like Berending, Kabekel, Darsilami, Kitty, Nyofelleh and Busuranding, to name a few. In a nutshell, please permit me to reiterate these words “AFRICELL NYOKO YORR”; you are number one for a reason.
