Tallinding Utd shock Gamtel

Sunday, March 1, 2009
There was a flurry of goals at the Manjai Kunda Mini-stadium on Saturday as newly promoted side Tallinding United shocked Gamtel in a six goals thriller.

Buoyed up by their mid-week goalless draw result against Wallidan, Talliding United went ahead to beat Gamtel 4-2 to earn their first three points of the season. Edrissa Jarju fired Tallinding United ahead midway through the first half before Gamtel levelled the score through  skipper Alagie Amadou Ngum’s penalty.

Fresh from break saw a stronger Tallinding side and it was not to be long before Tallinding restore their lead. Goals from Kawsu Sawaneh and Amadou Gibba tightened the United’s grip on the lead, but a 74th minute own-goal  by Tallinding’s skipper Youba Manneh reduced the deficit later. With five minutes remaining however, Tallinding ended any doubt on how the evening would end when David Gomez made it 4-2.
