Sporting Association to Participate in July 22

Preparations are underway for national sports associations to participate in the forthcoming July 22 celebration.

Speaking in an interview with Pointsport yesterday the executive secretary of the National Sports Council, Mr Alieu Cham, said among the associations some have been invited to take part in this year’s event noting that the Sports Council has written to associations for them to that the deadline for submission is June 9, 2009.

He stated that the aim of the participation of associations is to add value to the celebrations and also provides an opportunity for them to publicly promote their activities to the general public.

He pointed out that the sporting events would commence two days before the events, and end two days after.
