Tuesday, December 16, 2008
Peter Jones and his wife Margarett Jones, citizens of UK on Monday donated D40,000 (1,000 pounds) to the Kafuta Lower Basic School in a presentation held at the school campus.

The donated money is geared towards the completion of the school’s toilet which was started three years back. In presenting the donation to the headmaster of the school, Peter and Margarett all expressed their satisfaction to the school, adding that their aim is to see the sanitary facilities completed.

They indicated that they were able to raise this amount by not only using their own money, but also the support of true friends in living in the United Kingdom.  According to them, the help to Kafuta Lower Basic School came through Mr Bora, a native of Kafuta, noting that they are expecting to donate another D25,000 so as to finish the work.

Apparently overwhelmed by such a gesture, Buba Sibey, the headmaster of Kafuta Lower Basic School,  expressed his delight to the donors for what he described as a benevolent initiative.

Mr Banjul J.T Jatta, the cluster monitor of Kombo East, expressed his delight. He seized the opportunity to thank the British couple   for coming to the aid of the school.  He however assured them of the completion of the toilet , as the money will be used accordingly.
