Natanga FC grab Old Jeshwang knockout title

Natanga FC have emerged the winners in the Old Jeshwang knockout football final played at the town’s playground on Saturday.

Natanga beat Hope FC 1-0 in a keen contested final with Pa Cherno Sallah scoring the lone goal in the 74th minute. The Natanga side, however, ended the match on ten men after the sending off of Foday Fatty in the 77th minutes. As champions Natanga received a giant trophy and a cash prize of D4,000, while Hope FC consoled themselves with D2,500.

The aftermath of the final was also marred with presentation of medals to the coaches of the two finalists - Malang Sanyang, alias Pap and Ebrima Darboe, coaches of Hope FC and Natanga FC respectively. The 16-team competition was organised by the Old Jeshwang Sports Association with assistance from Sheriff Sarr, the councillor of Old Jeshwang ward.
