Man Convicted For Criminal Trespass

One Muhammed Sabally was on Monday 23rd February 2009 arraigned before Brikama Magistrates’ court presided over by Magistrate Pa Harry Jammeh charged with criminal trespass. According to the charge sheet, the accused Muhammed Sabally, got inside the Abuko Nature Reserve taking pictures of animals without taking permission.

Mr Sabally pleaded guilty.

According to the police prosecutor, First Class 2559 Ceesay, it happened on the 27th January at Abuko. He said the accused got inside the Nature reserve with a camera and took pictures of animals without permission. Thereupon he was arrested by the police and later taken to Yundum police station.

At this juncture the accused was convicted and sentenced to a fine of D200 (two hundred dalasis) in default to serve 1-month imprisonment.
