The Hulp ann Gambia Africa, a charitable organisation based in The Netherlands, in collaboration with The Gambia-Afrika-Hilfe, recently off-loaded a 40 ft container filled with medical equipment, clothing, and other items, meant for the community of Manduar.
The Gambia Police Band and the Scout Band of Basse in the Upper River Region also received band materials. Speaking at the handing over ceremony, Joop and Mary Van Niel, from The Netherlands, expressed delight in collaborating with the community of Manduar and The Gambian people at large. According to the couple, they first came to The Gambia as tourists and built interest in interacting with communities.

Sulayman Bojang, the nurse-in-charge of the Manduar Health Centre, spoke of the relationship between the health centre and the two organisations. “Hulp ann Gambia Africa and Gambia-Afrika-Hilfe have now completed the fencing of the perimeter of the health centre. They are also trying to build new wards,” he said.
For his part, Omar Jammeh, officer commanding, Intelligence, Western Region, who represented Governor Lamin Sanneh, also thanked the donors for their support and urged the community to put the materials to good use.
