She urged the people of the district to continue supporting the APRC party "as many things are in the pipeline." She promised the meeting that all concerns raised and presents issued will reach the president.

Adama Cham, National Assembly Member for Kombo North, said the purpose of the event was to show appreciation for the honorary Professorship conferred on the president for his selfless contribution, commitment and success in the treatment of diseases hitherto deemed untreatable, and also for his service to humanity, in addition to the rapid socio-economic development and transformation the country has experienced. According to Hon. Cham, the event is not only to demonstrate his constituency’s pride and appreciation for the Gambian leader, but also to reaffirm their unflinching support to his leadership and APRC party. He used the opportunity to appeal to the president, through the secretary of state for Local Governments and Lands, to upgrade Kombo North into a municipality of its own. He thanked his people and the entire Western Region as well as the people of KMC for gracing the occasion.
For her part, Hon. Tina Faal, nominated National Assembly member, who is the chairperson of the organizing committee, thanked the people of Kombo North for having answered to their call.
