The president of the Commonwealth Games in Banjul on Federation has been awarded an honorary citizenship by the Banjul City Council during a courtesy call to the BCC office Thursday.
Michael Fennes and his delegates were accompanied to Banjul by the president of The Gambia National Olympic Committee, Abdou Dandeh Njie and other GNOC members.
Deputising for the mayor of Banjul, the Deputy Mayor Winston Shyngle welcomed the Commonwealth Games Federation officials to his city.
Michael Fennes, after receiving his citizenship, expressed his great delight.
The occasion was witnessed by Banjulians, BCC staff and other dignitaries.
