Armed Forces FC eye Uganda tourney

The Gambia Armed Forces Football will represent the Gambia in an African Military Football Championship (OFMA) scheduled to take place in Uganda next month, Major Seckan, commander at the Fajara Training School who is also responsible for the team’s affairs has revealed.

He added that eight nations from around Africa will participate in the Uganda tournament which will also serve as qualifiers for the World Military Sport
Competition (CSIM). In a build up to the tournament, the Gambian soldiers have been preparing extensively holding series of friendly matches.

Alhagie Sey, the head coach of Armed Forces FC revealed that his side will also have friendly matched with national youth teams as part of final preparation for the championship. The Gambia hosted and won a West African football tournament in 2007 after taking part in another competition played in Burkina Faso.
