Africell FC suffered yet another defeat in the hands of the Academy boys Samger 1-0 in the week sixteen of the 2008-09 GFA First Division league at Brikama Mini Stadium.
The tightly contested game saw both sides create opportunities in front of each’s other goal mouth in the first 20 minute of the game but both sides are unable to produce a goal in the first period.
In the second period, Africell FC were superb and well formidable in the midfield and create lot chances but squandered all their chances in to bush, Samger who were defending and relied on counter attacks registered their lone goal in the 60th minute of the game through striker Lamin Samateh after dribbling Africell FC goalkeeper.
Africell FC though fought back in the dying minute of the game and put pressure on Samger defence but fail to break the deadlock and the game ended 1-0 in favour of the academy boys Samger who bagged 24 points from fifteen games and have a game in hand while Africell FC are second from bottom with 13 points from sixteen games.
Meanwhile in the other week sixteen game, the defending and FA Cup champions Wallidan defeated Seaview FC 1-0 at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.
