Jornor Group donates to Gambia firefighters

Jornor Group, Tuesday, donated fire fighting materials, worth D200,000, to the Gambia Fire and Ambulance Services.

The materials included fire fighting jacket, boots, helmets, leggings and gloves.

Handing over the materials, Sulayman Joof, the chief executive officer of Jornor Group, gave a brief background of the company. He said: “the company was established in 2006, and it operates across the globe, on three components, namely the Jornor Financial Services, Jornor Freight Forwarder and Jornor Recruitment”.

According to him, currently the company have secured employment for eight Gambians. He expressed hope that the figure would be increased as the company was beginning to open more bureaus in the near future. He then stated that the donation was part of their activities in complement government’s efforts in nation building. He noted that as a patriotic citizen, one has to contribute his or her quota to the nation as government “cannot do all.” He then assured them of their continuous support to the Gambia Fire and Ambulance Services.

Receiving the materials, Sang Ndow,  the divisional fire officer for KMC, commended the donors for their timely intervention. He stated that the materials would go a long way in enhancing the activities of the Fire and Ambulance Services. He assured that the protective materials would be used for its purpose and urged other citizens to emulate Jornor Group.
