Hamet Sumareh, a Senegalese youth, will have his liberty taken away if he fails in satisfying a D250,000 bail requirement.

Hamet, now awaiting trial on drug charges, was recently granted bail in the sum of D250,000 for contravening section 35(1) of the Drug Control Act of 2003 as amended.

He is alleged to have been arrested in possession of 820g of cannabis sativa. The arrest is said to have been effected in January of this year in Bakindik, North Bank Region.

As part of the bail conditions, Hamet should have a Gambian surety who possesses a valid Gambian ID card.
