The attorney for the beleaguered Guinean lady currently on trial at the Bundung Magistrates' Court has strongly argued that the charges against his client are fictitious, baseless and unbelievable.
Defence attorney, Batchilly, eloquently argued that there would be no tinge of doubt at the end of the trial that his client has not committed any crime. He pointed out that four witnesses have so far given evidence in the trial, adding that all the four had exhibited their lack of knowledge about the case.
Batchilly maintained that the testimonies of the prosecution witnesses have been found to be incoherent and contradictory and, as such, no competent court could rely on them. He added that the medical report did not indicate that his client had indeed killed her newborn infant.
It would be recollected that Mariama Jallow, a Guinean, was formally charged at the Bundung Magistrates' Court for causing the death of her new-born baby, a charge she has vehemently denied.
