Tuesday, April 29, 2008
As part of their visit to The Gambia, two Belgian philanthropists, Mr. Dominie Vandorem (Alias Sulyman the wisest) and Mr. Wim, donated some gifts to Abubabcarr Sidiq Foundation for Dawah and Orphan Welfare. The presentation ceremony was held at Khalid Bin Walid Islamic School in Gunjur.

Deputising for the coordinator of the association Mr. Abdurahman K. Touray welcomed the guests to the ceremony and appealed to parents and guardians to honour their invitations on matters of concern to their children or wards. He emphasised that priority will be given to serious sides at all times.

Speaking on behalf of the donors, Mr. Dampie the wisest, said it gladdens their hearts to come all the way from Belgium to help young Gambian children.

He said the children are the future leaders of the country and world at large. For him helping orphans is the most beautiful thing in life. He urged people to look after the association and support them in all ways as they are doing a very splendid service in the community.

112 orphans who attended the ceremony benefited from clothes and shoes. Mr. Ousman Janneh gave the vote of thanks.
