Ebrima Jammeh and Ousman Jammeh were on Monday, last arraigned at the Bundung Magistrates’ Court for raping a teenager in Kotu; charges they deny.

Recounting her reported ordeal before magistrate Kumba Sillah-Camara on Monday, the 14-year-old explained that she was peeling a coconut when she got cut by the knife she was using and was therefore asked by her mother to go to the nearby shop to buy a medicated plaster.

“It was around 11pm and as I went out of the house to buy the plaster, Ebrima grabbed my hands, tripped me down and fell on me. But Ousman tried to separate us whilst Ebrima was on top of me,” she added.
