Banjul abduction case now in court

Wednesday, April 16, 2008

The reported abduction of children in Banjul in the evening of April 2nd  has now reached the corridors of justice, this paper can reveal.

Sheikh Jobe, 26, was arrested by the police in Banjul for forcefully taking away two children from

Grant Street
to the mangrove swamps somewhere around
Bund Road
in Banjul.

He was yesterday charged at the Banjul Magistrates’ Court with abduction but denies any wrongdoing.

Sources have earlier hinted this paper that Jobe was encountered by a Nigerian who asked him as to where he was taking the kids. “He responded that he was taking them home but had missed the direction. It was then that the Nigerian grew suspicious and then took Jobe to Banjul police station where he was interrogated and charged with abduction,” added sources.
