Before administering sentence the Accused begged the court to temper justice with mercy, arguing that he went to the complainant’ shop because he was looking for a job.
Magistrate Jammeh in passing sentence stated that the convict had no right to enter into the complainant’s shop, and consequently sentenced the convict to three months jailed term with hard labour. He was also ordered to be deported after serving the sentence.
In a related development one Alagie Abdoulie Jallow was also convicted and sentenced to three months mandatory jail term with hard labour.
Magistrate Jammeh in his judgement stated that the prosecution had proven their case against the accused person beyond all reasonable doubt. He consequently sentenced the convict accordingly.
