One Amadou Kojo Sowe is standing trial at the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court for being in possession of fake gold dust. He faces a two-count charge.
Count one stated that the accused, Amadou Kojo Sowe in July of this year attempted to sell 24kg of gold dust to one Muhammed Rayani, knowing that the said gold dust was fake.
Count two indicated that the accused was in July of this year found in possession of 24.69kg of fake gold dust.
He pleaded not guilty on both counts.
Police prosecutor, Sub Inspector Fadera did not object to bail but applied to the court to adjourn the case to enable him to bring forward his witnesses.

Abdoulie Mbackeh granted the application and also granted the accused bail in
the sum of D18, 000 or the provision of a Gambian surety with a landed
property, the title deed of which should be deposited with the Assistant
