The criminal case file concerning Marce Maurice Alfred Vanmaldegum a Dutch national has been sent to the Attorney General’s Chamber for legal opinion, according the police prosecutor.
The prosecutor last Friday informed the Banjul Magistrates’ Court presided over by Magistrate Lamin George that they are yet to receive the case file from the AG’s Chambers where it was sent for legal advice and therefore applied for an adjournment.
Defence counsel Badou Conteh, for his part, said the court should press the prosecution for a speedy trial as the case was a criminal one. He said justice delay is justice denied, adding that the case was set for hearing.

aiding a prisoner to escape contrary to section 109 of the criminal code cap 10

The alleged
offence revealed that on or about
Mr Northfield the General Manger of Carnegie Minerals Company was standing trial at the Banjul High Court along with the company for economic crime and theft.
