Tallinding United coach revels in Wallidan draw

Coach Alagie Nyassi called it a big achievement after his seemingly under-rated side Tallinding United held mighty Wallidan to a goalless draw last evening in the week two fixtures of the GFA First Division League.

Tallinding United lost 0-1 to Hawks in the opener, but an improved performance in the  second match saw them collect their first point against the most feared side in the premier tier of Gambian football. “A point from Wallidan is enough,” elated Nyassi told Observer Sports shortly after the final whistle. “Wallidan are a big team. They won the double last season. So if we can come all the way from the second division and collect a point from them, I would call that a big achievement,” Nyassi.

Talliding United could have even snatched the maximum points, if not for some poor finishings and coach Nyassi believes the absent of some key strikers in the team is hampering the team’s sharpness in the upfront. Up next for coach Nyassi’s side is a week three fixture against Gamtel on Saturday.
