A four-day Sphere training for regional disaster management committees was recently concluded at the Trans-Gambia lodge in Pakalinding, Jarra West, Lower River Region.
Organised by the Concern Universal Disaster Risk Reduction Project, the objective of the training was to ensure that participants understand how to apply the humanitarian charter and minimum technical standards in humanitarian action, the different applications for the Sphere handbook within the humanitarian sector as well as link Sphere with disaster preparedness and response.
The project manager, Ebou Faye-Njie, said the overall aim of the training was to assist participants and promote learning about Sphere. At the end of the training, certificates were awarded to participants.
