Officials from the 4H Norway Organisation, accompanied by delegates from their sister organization 4H Gambia, recently concluded a two-week study tour to project sites in North Bank and Central River Region North.

The visit is an annual activity of the 4H Norway Organisation and was headed by Tor Brekke and secretary general, Astrid Solberg. The visit also gave the opportunity to members of the organisation and farmers to discuss and share best practices on the attainment of their project objectives.

Speaking to this reporter in Kerewan, the director of 4H Gambia, Modou Secka, said the visit is meant to assess the level of project implementation, as well as give them the opportunity to live with their host families, to share socio-cultural experiences and also to assist them in their household chores.

The 4H Gambia director also underscored the importance his organisation attaches to youth development, citing the acquisition of life skills and knowledge to enable them to effectively participate in socio-economic development. He noted that the visit by 4H Norway officials also enabled them to institute a development fund aimed at enhancing the capacity of members.

He called on the host families to make best use of the knowledge gained during the study tour.
