Sars fraudster’s appeal dismissed

By THANDUXOLO JIKA High Court Reporter A FORMER South African Revenue Service auditor who solicited bribes to make a local businessmans tax problems disappear will spend three years in jail . Yesterday, the Grahamstown High Court dismissed Akash Lachmans appeal against his conviction and sentence, ruled on last year in the East London Regional Court. Lachman was sentenced to five years imprisonment, of which two years were suspended. Magistrate Ignatius Kitching granted him leave to appeal....
